Privacy Policy

What Snooker Sim collects, why, where it lives, and your rights.

The short version

Who runs this site

Snooker Sim is operated by Entrinsic Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales. For any privacy question or request, contact us at [email protected].

What we collect, and why

Without an account

Visiting the site does not require any sign-in. Your browser stores a small amount of data locally for the simulator to work:

With an account

Signing in is optional and is handled by a third-party identity provider (currently Google or Facebook). When you sign in we receive and store:

We use this to:

We never post to your social account, read your contacts, or request any permission beyond basic profile information.

Shot data

Saved shot set-ups contain ball positions, your aim and spin settings, the current score, and any notes you add. If you publish a shot set-up to the community, that data and your public display name are visible to other signed-in users. You can delete any published set-up at any time from the Account panel.

Photo import

The “Import from photo” tool reads an image you choose from your device, detects cushions and balls, and rebuilds the position locally. The image is processed entirely in your browser and is not uploaded to Snooker Sim or anywhere else.

Analytics

We use a privacy-friendly, EU-hosted analytics service to understand how the simulator is used — which features people reach, where they get stuck, and how performance behaves on different devices. It assigns an anonymous id stored in your browser. If you sign in, we link that anonymous id to your opaque user id so we can analyse retention; we never send your name, email or any other personal information. You can opt out at any time by appending ?tracking=off to any URL on this site (your choice is remembered for that browser), or by enabling Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control.

Server logs

Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure keeps short-lived request logs for security and abuse prevention. These include IP address, the URL requested, the response code, and a user-agent string. We do not use these logs for marketing or to build profiles.

Cookies and local storage

We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site trackers.

Who processes your data

We use a small number of third-party service providers to run the simulator. We share the minimum information needed for each one to do its job:

We do not sell or rent your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not allow third parties to use your data to train machine-learning models. The specific vendors change occasionally; you can ask us for the current list at any time.

How long we keep your data

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We'll respond within 30 days.

For deletion specifically, see our Delete your data page for step-by-step instructions.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

Snooker Sim is suitable for general audiences but is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the simulator evolves. Material changes will be highlighted on the site. The “Last updated” date below tells you when this version was published.
